This batty day in the Target trailer, we started off with our shoddy vocabulary cartoon cards.  On the way to the shelf to get our vocabulary cartoon books, the floor squeaked.  Then it felt like the Target trailer's wheels started rolling.  When we were done with our words, we researched our bats for our Itty Bitty Bat Book.  Fortunately we are all literate so we could read the information.  Unfortunately, our computers had turned to the "laptops of horror" because they would not get onto the spider web (web site).  Then we did Above and Beyond projects.  Two people who were supposed to present their projects ineptly left part of their projects at their haunted house.  Some of our hands came off of our arms and on to our equations, so we called it Hands On Equations.  It was a mysterious, unlucky Friday the 13th at Target.

Remember to bring signed Target Tally, binder, snack and water bottle on Target day.  Please return the signed Continuation Criteria form.

Today on "Target Center" all of the producers came in and were zealously greeted by the director, Mrs. Lyjak with a handshake, a high-five or a hug.  Next they started working on their vocabulary script cards.  We will hide the words in our program (blog).  Then we created a script to help us remember how to tell megachiroptera and microchiroptera apart using their physical characteristics.  After that the producers edited a show about words that had the letter "b", "a", and "t".  Next we created a new show about algebra equations called Hands On Equations.  Every new Hands On Equations script sheet abounded with equations.  And that's all for "Target Center."  Tune in next week for the next episode.

Remember your signed Target Tally, binder, a nutritious snack and a water bottle.

Our Target day started off with Vocabulary Cartoon cards.  We will hide them in our blog somewhere.  The next thing we had to accomplish was a thank you note to our special visitor last Friday.  After that we had to organize and classified different types of bats by their physical characteristics.  Next we created Venn diagrams comparing physical characteristics of the Long-eared bat and Free-tailed bat.  Mrs. Lyjak forgot to take a sticky note with the number 25 on it off of the prototype of our Venn Diagrams so our papers had a 25 on them.  Then we fetched our Hands On Equations kits and sheets to solve algebra equations.  We had a great time despite forgetting what legal moves were.  Today we had a wonderiffic, awesome day.

Remember that Target is on Monday next week because we have a guest speaker.  Bring your signed Target Tally, your binder, your snack and water bottle.

Once upon a time there was a magical, brainy Target class in a castle-like cottage.  That morning they were doing Vocabulary Jeopardy.  It was hosted by the Queen of Vocabulary Jeopardy.  After they played the game, they took a magical vocabulary quiz with their dear friend R2D2 and their very own magic wands.  Next, the sorcerers used the force to go on a quest about wonderful bats using the Stellaluna Web Quest.   Stellaluna Web Quest is due next week.  Then they went to another queen's cottage to learn about the white-nosed syndrome that kills mystical flying creatures called bats.  They also had a royal visitor at the other queen's cottage that told them about how she spelunks.  She also talked about how she flies with ropes.  Finally, they learned new vocabulary words about the white-nosed syndrome.  And they lived happily ever after until next week.

Remember to bring your signed Target Tally, Stellaluna Web Quest, and binder.  Also, bring a water bottle and a nutritious snack.

Today in Target we had a great day.  We are going to do our blog a little different today by scrambling the subject words.  The first thing we did to start our day was oclubayrv onostarc.  Next we accomplished our last boeva dan ybondse for this nine weeks.  We have two more projects due next nine weeks.  After that on our agenda we did selatlunal bwe tqsue.  Finally we worked on our algebra skills with sndah no qutanoise.  We learned a new way to show multiplication in algebra.  We learned about echolocation.  We also learned about how mother bats nurture their pups.  That was our fabulous day in Target.

Remember to bring your signed Target Tally and Target binder.  Study for the Vocabulary quiz.  Work on your Above and Beyond projects.  Bring a nutritious, delicious snack and a water bottle.  Bring a dry erase marker.

Today in Target we had a fantastic day.  The best thing we did today was watching Above and Beyond presentations.  They were about Technology in Cars, origami, cats, money, light bulbs and the environment, plant classification, and whale sharks.  Our next best thing we did today was our Stellaluna web quest.  We have almost completed it and have learned that there are different types of megabats and microbats.  Microbats are underdogs because they are smaller.  The next most astonishing thing was doing vocabulary extensions in Mrs. Lind's trailer.  We learned new words like majority, minority, miserly, and immortal and it was hard.  After we came back from Mrs. Lind's class we retrieved our lunches.  This was a very exciting, busy day.

Remember to bring your signed Target Tally and your binder.  Also bring a nutritious snack and a water bottle.  Next week is the last week to present Above and Beyond projects for this nine weeks.

The best thing we did in our short Target day was creating a dichotomous key about our Flying Clips and buttons.  We learned that all living things can be classified in a key that is not dichotomous because dichotomous keys have two groups.  Many different dichotomous keys will work for the same subjects.  Then we looked at the bat classification.  We learned that humans are quite similar to bats.  In the classification system, we are in the same group until the fifth level which is flying mammals.  Two people implemented Above and Beyond projects.  We learned about the Biltmore Estate and American Girl doll fashions.  That wraps up a short day that turned out to be pretty big.

Remember to bring your Target binder, signed Target Tally, some nutritious delicious snacks and a water bottle.

Today we started by doing our Vocabulary Cartoon Cards and played Vocabulary Jeopardy.
After that, we shared our Flying Clips.  We also learned about Dichotomous Keys.  Dichotomous means to separate items into two groups at a time.
Remember to bring your Target binder, signed Target Tally, a water bottle, an dry erase marker and a nutritious snack.
Get your Hands On Equations so you can learn algebra.  We learned that a pawn stands for X and between each pawn and/or number cube is a plus sign.
Everybody passively listened to an Above and Beyond project about clouds.
To get to Target today, we wished we had catamaran since it was so rainy!!!!

Going to the Target trailer took a long time from the third grade hall.   We greeted Mrs. Lyjak and went to our seats to ask our urgent questions.  We shared our hidden talents.  A few of the talents were the agility to do the splits, squeak, and rap dance.   We wead a stowy about a Wodney Wat who was a wodent who could not say his r's.  He thought he didn't have a talent but he really did and his talent was used to confuse a bully and send her west forever.  We organized our Target binders and took a tour of the new Target trailer.  We then worked on Vocabulary Cartoon cards.  Can you find our words in this blog?  We completed our pretest on bats.  We watched a very interesting video about bats.  We wailed when we heard we had homework.  Our homework is  to complete our Flying Clips.   No one wailed when they heard we were studying bats.   We had a wonderful first day of Target.

Remember to bring your Target binder and update your supplies.  Also bring your signed Target Tally, water bottle and several nutritious snacks and Parent Information sheet.  Also, bring your Flying Clip and knowledge card.  Target Parent Orientation is Tuesday, August 25th from 8:00-8:45AM in the cafeteria.
