The book The Violin Hunter is an amazing book and should be read as soon as possible, if you are a fan of Classical music or are just interested in violins and their history. Also, Great Masters of the Violin by Boris Schwarz. It is an incredibly detailed and interesting book which speaks of many unknown facts to the common world. You should read this book, for you will learn more than you would expect.

The book Sophie's world is the best book I have ever read. It is an amazing novel that has a huge twist in the middle. It is life-changing!
And someone has seconded and thirded(?!) this!

I highly recommend reading Kurt Vonnegut's Cat's Cradle. It is a tough read, but if you are up for a challenge, it is extremely interesting, and in the end, exciting.

Although you will be reading this book in eighth grade I am still going to recommend it, for I have already read it. I recommend the book Animal Farm by George Orwell, it is filled with many factual connections with the real world, but is written in a satiracal view.
