Student pick week

Search for a current event item somewhere on the Internet and write a reaction statement about that event. There are a couple of rules to follow: 1- The article/event cannot be more than 2 weeks old
2- It cannot be local or about sports.

When you submit your reaction statement, include the web address it was from and the date you found it.

Student pick week

Search for a current event item somewhere on the Internet and write a reaction statement about that event. There are a couple of rules to follow: 1- The article/event cannot be more than 2 weeks old
2- It cannot be local or about sports.

When you submit your reaction statement, include the web address it was from and the date you found it.

Last year, the state of Arizona passed a controversially law about illegal immigration. Now, the US Supreme Court will take a look at the law to see if it is constitutional or not. Read the article below and tell me what you think about this law and immigration as a whole.

Recently, Iran has become a thorn in the side of several "western" countries, ie. the United States. One major concern is Iran's attempt to develop and create a nuclear weapon that could be used on it's enemies. It is not a secret that Iran's president, Mahmoud Ahmadinejad is not a friend of the US or our ally, Israel. Below is an article about Iran's nuclear program. Read it and write a reaction statement to it, and give your opinion if you think the international community or the US should step in and stop their nuclear process. (Remember that your reaction statement should be around a half of page minimum)

This week's current event is about the jobs bill that President Obama has proposed. As you probably know, the US economy has had some problems as of late and unemployment is high. Therefore, President Obama has suggested a bill to help alleviate the unemployment problem. Below are two articles about the bill. The first article is a break down of the bill and the second one is an update to the story. You will need to write a reaction statement to the story about how you feel about the bill and whether you think it will work. You can (and might need to) look up other sites to gather more information to create a great reaction.
