We have been enjoying several good books by Mo Willems and Kevin Henkes. Mo Willems is so silly. Kevin Henkes's stories are very easy for the first graders to relate to. Through discussion, we have learned that many of our first graders have experienced similar situations and can really connect to the main characters.
