Students took the Wk 9 Vocabulary Test.
Then they started reading "Masque of the Red Death" in class.  They used the reading guide questions to help them monitor what they were reading.  If you were not in class  to receive these, just use the questions at the end of the story in the book.

We went over the grammar homework.  In the enriched classes, we checked Lessons 11 & 12 (not for pts). In the honors classes, we corrected wkbk pgs. 23-26.  Students used the remainder of the classtime to work on their comfort cards.

    BQ #23 (We skipped #22)
I introduced the three elements of a constructed response.  Students then practiced writing a constructed response for questions from "Through the Tunnel".  Students received a handout outlining the elements of a constructed response.

    Wednesday 10/14--
Today, many students were involved with the PSAT, so students who were in class worked independently on their homework.  If you missed class for any reason today, make sure you check the homework page.  You need to make sure you have the 6 Rules for End Marks, handout "Put an End to That!", and the two constructed response questions for "The Lottery".  All of these things are available on Handouts.
