    War Blog

Think about the texts we have read that ask us to think about war: Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close, "How to Tell a True War Story" excerpted from The Things They Carried, "The War Prayer" by Mark Twain, and the This I Believe essay by Alex Anderson about her experiences with prisoners at Guantanamo Bay.  Post your answers to the following questions:

#1.  Which text/s held the most resonance for you?  Which made the best argument about war or challenged your thinking the most? Explain.

#2.  Is it possible for someone who has not been to war to write convincingly and truly about it?  Explain.

Remember to include your code number when you post your comments.  I look forward to hearing your responses.

I invite further insights and questions about Foer's novel.  This is your chance to shine if you were not able to include your comments during the Socratic circle.  The blog also offers an opportunity to share ideas among several AP classes.  Please indulge!

Welcome back.  I hope your summer was as wonderful and restorative as mine was.
I look forward to working with you this year and would like you to post a "hello" to this blog.  Please include your name and class period on this post.  I'll be the only person to view this one.  I just want you to find the site and practice creating comments in the blog because we'll be doing that from time to time this year.  Mrs. V.

P.S. Oh, the photo wasn't taken by me, but stolen from one of my favorite bloggers.  I chose it because it features my favorite food and favorite flower in the same image.
