11/30/2009 Today you started with Daily Math having you write 5 sample survey questions, who and how many you would survey for each question, and if some questions required more people than others. You were given handout Samples & Populations Problem 2.1 Notes and the three definitions were called out. Then, using handout Investigation 2: Conducting Surveys page 27-28, we discussed different types of sampling and the advantages and disadvantages of each. A survey was taken of the students' favorite NFL teams. A discussioned continued about what type of sampling it was, if it was biased or representative, and ways it could have been done differently. We also used the example to discuss how the responses would have varied from state to state and "what if" situations.

    Homework:
    1. Study the definitions from class today.
    2. Spinoffs from Space project due Wednesday, December 9, 2009.
