Well, friends, Sally and Benny have had quite the exciting summer !

After they left Barry School on June 28th, they moved to a school in Springfield. For 6 weeks, the kids there observed them, fed them, cleaned their tank, and had fun watching them S L O W L Y start to change! The kids I was teaching also wrote a new verse to a rap about metamorphosis- I can't wait to teach you it!

Now, they are home with me continuing to develop into frogs . Just last night, Sally's front legs popped out! This is what she looks like now....

Do you remember what Sally is called now?
I'll give you a hint: She is NOT a tadpole anymore!

Benny is still a tadpole, though, because he has no back legs or front legs.
I think that his back legs will start growing soon, though!

Here is a picture of them together in their tank at my house

    Pretty exciting stuff!
Do you remember what Sally should be called now?
How long do you think it will take for her tail to disappear?

What do you think we can do in our classroom to help the chicks develop to be strong and healthy inside of the eggs?

Sometimes, we have to act like the animals that we are!

We get to go outside and explore!

We look at this REALLLLLLY closely!

Things sometimes get a little.... ummm... gross!

    Science can be very exciting!

But we always try and have fun!
