How is your summer reading going?
Do you have any questions on selecting a "just right" book or regarding the book chat questions?
Remember to choose book selections that interest you or topics that you are passionate about! Flip
through the book, read the first few pages, read the book jacket, look
at illustrations (if any), or go online to get reviews from other
students.
If there are too many challenging words that prevent you from
understanding what you are reading and you need to stop repeatedly,
this book is too difficult for you. If you are able to read the book
very quickly and are bored, then this book is probably too easy for
you. A
book that is just right for you, is one that might have a few
challenging words on each page, but you're able to understand by
getting clues from the sentences you read above and below them. The
font of the words should be a comfortable size for you. A just right
book is also one that you have not already read and one that holds your
interest.
