Now that we have begun our new novel, I would like to know which of the characters see4ms most interesting or appealing to you? Identify the character and explain why he/she/it appeals to you.

Well, now that we are in the middle of Hamlet, one of Shakespeare's most powerful plays, let's discuss Hamlet himself. As we have discussed in class, he is a bit of a sensitive guy, unlike the huge macho man Beowulf. Yet, he is being forced to act in a way that is not quite "him" for the sake of his dad.

So, have you ever been put  in this kind of situation? To have to seek "payback" for a wrong or ill done to a family member or a good friend?

Now that we have met the pilgrims and begun to read the tales, it would be a good time to think about your next paper.

To what contemporary work could you compare
The Canterbury Tales? Given that this is a social commentary of the time period, try to think of such a work that compares for our time in history.

Okay, so we saw how things were back in the day of Beowulf, but what about today? If an adventure story be told about our society today, who would be the heroes and who would be the villians? Think about we value in our society, how we deal with enemies, our current financial sitation in answering this question - all of it.

Now that you have been introduced to the heroic Beowulf, tell me what you think about him. Is he the one that makes this most senior's all time favorite character? Is it that he is superhuman and we all aspire to be like that in our lives? Is it the excitement of the monsters and dragons? WHAT IS IT THAT MAKES THIS STORY SO APPEALING?
