    In writing/ reading we are listening to a read-aloud and identifying the main story elements. In math we have to fluently add and subtract within twenty using mental strategies. Also we are learning about weather. In social studies we are doing reseach by reading and recording notes about a country of our origin. In open circle, we are using the problem solving box. In art, we are doing abstract art and in gym we just finished the hoe down! Then, in Drama we are doing new warm-ups! We had the field trip to the Museum and Math Night. Both were really fun.  We have a lot to look forward to during our last few weeks of school.

    Back to School!

    Coming back from vacation we have a lot to look forward to! We are starting country research tomorrow! Also we have the Hoe Down on Thursday. In may, we have our field trip to the Boston Children's Museum. On May 10, we have Math Night. Only 38 days left of school!

    Marvelous March!

     March has been a fun month so far. Today  some of us are dressed up as our favorite story book characters. Next week, we get to have a beach day and have popsicles! In class, we are learning about
     weather and we are excited about our biography boxes project!

    It's been a loooooong, loooooong time!

    We have not been very good at blogging this year! Mrs. Fitzpatrick has been keeping us too busy! There is a lot to catch up on, such as: all of our special 20 point activities, our very own published book, the Pesce Cup, the 100th day of school, and more! There is also a lot to look forward to, such as: Jump Rope for Heart, the Hoe Down, Valentine's Day, and getting a whole lot smarter! After February vacation, we are really going to try hard to update our blog weekly. We hope you will enjoy our blog as much as we do!

    We FINALLY have a chance to blog!!!

    We are happy to be the first bloggers! We had our parents come in for lunch last week. It was fun! In Art we are working hard on our haunted houses. We have a traveling tide pool in our class, which is cool!

    Today we learned all about our classroom blog. Next week small groups of students will start to do their own blog entries. We are excited! We hope that we are going to get lots of comments- they are fun to read!

    16 More Days!

    We are looking forward to our field trip to the Childrens Museum. In math we are taking our end of the year test. YIKES!Fun and fitness day is coming up an the 17th.Please come to the June Jamboree on the 14th. We're so excited for the end of the school year.

    Miss Kalb's Last Week :(

    We are sad to say that this is Miss Kalb's last week with us. We will be doing something special to celebrate on Friday.
    Miss Kalb has been teaching us about Spain in Social Studies, and we are getting to work on our country research. In Science we are learning how to use and read thermometers. In Music we are learning new songs in different languages. In Open Circle we are thinking of ways that we can stop bullying. Leah won a poster contest about bullying- congratulations to her!
    Since we earned 20 points we are going to do a fun craft this week.

    Finally Blogging About a Fun Week

    We're excited to announce that we have started country research. We'll be working hard with Mrs.Klatt.  We've also been working hard  with Ms. Pesce to prepare for the Hoe Down which is on Thursday.  A lot of us went  to family math night , which was fun. We hope everyone has a great vacation!
