The best
way to see if a particular career is a good match for you is to do work based learning activities listed below.
Seek out opportunities like these with friends, family, relatives, neighbors, church members, etc.
1. Take courses at DHS that are related to your career interests. Mr. Hobson can put together a four year plan to help in this area.
2. Shadow someone in a career you have an interest. You may shadow one time per year and it will not count as an absence. See Mr. Hobson in student services to pick up a shadowing application.
3. Volunteer with a charitable organization or a company that has your career interest over a certain length of time.
4. Do a Career & Technical Education (CTE) internship and receive elective credit.
5. Find a parttime job in your career interest. Shadowing, volunteering, and interning can sometimes lead to parttime jobs.
