Hi everyone.  Classes are going great!  A student performed a Random Act of Kindness this week.  He took my hall passes home and fixed them.  Wow, I am so thankful.  I didn't want to have to throw them out and get new ones so he offered to fix them for me.  Thanks so much, and what an awesome job he did!
A sixth grader,  performed an operation on the board in a differenct way than we normally do.  She did an awesome job and the process was well thought out.  Congratulations on using logic and other possibilities for solving a problem!
All six classes are showing such great promise for a bright future.  Pat your self on the back and remember we still have a lot of work to do to prepare for this new world we live in.
Study, work hard and pay attention.  Don't forget to let me know when you commit random acts of kindness.  What a world this would be if everyone did!

    Sincerely,
    Your teacher, Mrs. Coble

Well, we have made it through another school year and it was full of excitement and great achievement.  I have enjoyed working with all of my students and the staff at MCMS.  What a great place!
Some students are moving on the High School and some moving up a grade.  There will also be a new group to welcome in the Fall.  I look forward to seeing all of you in August.

    Have an AWESOME SUMMER!

Well, I know the holidays are here.  Friday at noon we will have to say so long for a little while.  As I know we are in need of a break, we also need to remember the "bigger picture" when we return.  We have to finish preparing for the end of the year and learning all we can so we can achieve our goals.  I would like to take this opportunity to tell my students, colleagues, parents and all others that I have never felt so welcome than at this school.

Morehead City Middle School ROCKS!!!!!!!!!  The students, especially, have shown great improvement, confidence and worked hard to make sure they are learning what is necessary to be successful while welcoming a new teacher to their school.  What more could a teacher ask for?

Thank You!  And be safe during the holidays!  I will miss you!

    Just A Note

Hi everyone.  What a great fall we are having so far.  There are many celebrations right around the corner.  Thanksgiving is approaching and after that Good Ol' Santa comes to town.  We will have holidays and excitement.  Keep in mind that studies are important and we are preparing for a major goal at the end of the year.  Many times we forget that these days ahead are very important.
Morehead City Middle School is blessed to have so many wonderful students, staff, and teachers.  Our students are hard working and full of character.  The part of our character that challenges us to do our best is one that we need to keep in the vision of our months ahead.

Keep up the hard work and we will see our goals achieved.
Thanks for everything you do here at MCMS to make this a great place.

Thanks to everyone who has stopped by to say hi!

So, now, has anyone seen another student or teacher or anyone do something really nice that they didn't have to do?  Part of the point of starting a blog for me was to see if there were acts of random kindness going on all around us.  I would love to hear from students, teachers, administrators, counselors and office staff!

    Welcome Back!

Summer has come and gone again.  We are beginning yet another year in school and I am excited to be here with you.  I would like to start a blog roll with my students and see what your thoughts are on some topics as we move along.  We can learn so much about each other and discuss some pretty important topics along the way.  Blogging is a great way to accomplish this.  The first topic I would like to discuss is how we can do nice things for each other as the year moves along.  If you have seen the movie "Pay It Forward", then you already know that a young student started a project where a person does something nice for someone and then that person in turn does something nice for someone else.  The idea is that if each person passes the goodness of doing something kind for someone on to another person, then eventually everyone will be committing acts of random kindness.
So, what could you do for someone this week that is nice?
    Some suggestions:
Say hello to someone you don't know.
Hold a door open for someone who has their hands full.
Help another student find a classroom.
I am sure there are so many more that you can think of.
