Good afternoon. I'm excited to share with you all a collaborative effort in CALS to host a residential, 3-day workshop at NC State this summer (July 2017). It will provide immersive and research-focused experiences in plant and soil sciences for secondary technology, science (biology, chemistry, physics, and environmental science), and math educators. You should see two hyperlinks attached...one is the front of the flyer with an application link that the teacher submits and a place for a letter of support...the other is a tentative workshop agenda.

If you have any questions, please contact Dr. Helen Kraus, Associate Professor in Horticultural Science via email at helen_kraus@ncsu.edu or call 919-515-1208.

I am writing to inform you and your students at Providence Grove about the
2017 Rotary Youth Leadership Program, a leadership training academy for
outstanding rising juniors and seniors run through the Center for Creative
Leadership and funded by area Rotary Clubs.

This program for 48 high schoolers throughout the state is 100% free, as
local Rotary Clubs cover the cost of room and board at Guilford College
    and leadership training by CCL.

We would like for you to identify current sophomores and juniors who are
qualified—ie: students who have potential to assume or have already
assumed leadership roles in their school or community and have academic
averages of “B” or better and encourage them to submit applications
    via the website: http://www.rotaryyouthleadershipprogram.com/. Please
email me with any questions about htis program--it is a fantastic and free
opportunity for your students. Thank you and look forward to hearing from

Deadline to apply online:  March 15th
