The
Difference Between Generations
By Nate Magoon (Red)
I’m comparing my mom’s generation to mine. After doing this interview I’ve
learned that me and my mom have a lot in common. I’ve learned some interesting
things about her generation. I’m going to show you about the childhood of
Carlene Torosian Magoon.
When she was young, she would color pictures for fun and ride her bike, with a
little transitional radio tied onto it. I did some of the things she did, like
I would ride my bike, I would also play games with my friends. For chores she
would have to pick up dog poop and sweep the gutter on the street. I didn’t do
those type of things. I sweep and empty the dishwasher. During the school day
my mom would walk to school and it would be a really busy day.
Some of her favorite subjects in school were chorus and social studies. She
loved singing and learning about the past! I also love these subjects. My mom’s
favorite childhood memory was the beginning of summer when her dad opened the
pool. I also love doing that with my dad it’s always fun opening the pool. I also
love Christmas decorating, it’s my favorite childhood memory I love it. My mom
use to eat a lot of cube steak, potatoes and green beans. I have chicken or
steak which ever their both good. My mom’s favorite summer activities were
swimming in the pool, the drive INS, and cookouts. I love all these things and
I have to say my answer is the same as hers.
By doing this essay, I’ve learned a lot about my mom that I didn’t know. Well
that’s all. This was the childhood of Carlene Torosian Magoon.
