Best Wishes to you and your family as you celebrate your holidays.
Our Big Buddy-Little Buddy  Holiday Workshop was a terrific success.  We created many adorable surprises for our families to open as you light your menorah or decorate your Christmas tree.  The Holiday Concert on Wednesday, December 21, will heartwarming. Try to be at school by 9:00 as the first grade sings first and parking will be tight.

Happy Thanksgiving to all of our friends and families. We have much to be thankful for!   The children enjoyed our annual Native American Festival of activities. They rotated among the three first grade classrooms to complete a sand painting, a bearskin cave painting and the penny eagle.  All enjoyed tasting some of the foods that might have been served at the first Thanksgiving.

Thanks to Mrs. Smith and Mrs. Dembowski for forwarding pictures...I will upload them for you to see a.s.a.p.

The class all pitched in to make our two-day power outage an adventure.  We had a first-hand chance to compare our conveniences to the lack of conveniences on the Quiet Valley Farm of 200 years ago.  We refer to our recent class trip throughout the year...and this week made quite an impression.

Our school has practiced lock-down drills on two occasions recently. Mandated by the state, staff and students practice simple procedures to keep everyone safe in case of an emergency.

New Jersey State Troopers Edelman, Neville, and MacGlashan visited our first grade classes today along with K-9 Kreiger and K-9 Marshall. They talked with our classes and demonstrated how the canine unit trains their dogs to protect and defend the members of our community.  What beautiful and brave dogs!  How proud we are of Troopers Edelman, Neville, and MacGlashan.

Your children couldn't have worked any harder this week.  We completed our first story in the Unit: Animals, Tame and Wild.  Many children volunteered to try challenge work.  Good for eveyone.   Thank you for the help with the Homework Activity Board. Please remember to have all work completed neatly in pencil.  Don't forget to read fifteen minutes and initial each night.   The children know that at the end of the month the reward for completing all homework is a coupon for a personal pan pizza at Pizza Hut.  We are patiently waiting for our brine shrimp to hatch, but not seeing any activity.
