March is "Music in Our Schools"Month! To celebrate, both the 4th and 5th grade bands are having a practice competition! Whoever practices the most between March 1st and March 31st wins! There will be prizes for the top three participants for each grade level!

Today I sent out a "Newsflash" test to my 4th and 5th grade Newsflash subscribers. To manage your subscription or sign up, please see the Newflash links in the left hand menu!

Lessons are beginning at different times for different students, so be ready & remember to show up prepared!

LMS - Lessons start on Monday, September 12th. 

Noxon 5th Grade: Lessons start on Wednesday, September 14th. (There is band rehearsal this Friday, no instruments necessary)

Noxon 4th Grade: We'll have a "Meet the Teacher" session this coming week. Regular lessons will begin on Tuesday, September 20th. Students will be sent home with a note that details what supplies are waiting for the student at school.

I'm gearing up for the new school year and looking forward to seeing some old friends and new friends as I continue work at Noxon Elementary and begin work at LaGrange Middle. I'm psyched to get back to making music with young people and watching them develop into true musicians. Each year brings something new, and I'm excited to see what we can learn together this year.


 

I've been tinkering with my website and one new feature that I'm exploring this year is "Newsflash." You can receive short, up-to-date emails or texts about concerts, festivals, and other important information. I know sometimes notes from me don't always seem to find their way out of the backpack, but this is an easy way for me to communicate with a whole group of parents directly. I'll be sending home a note in the fall requesting your email address for this purpose, but you can also subscribe yourself using appropriate link on the left.
