In class we have been discussing the Bill of Rights and why it was so important that the Bill of Rights be added to the Constitution. These rights that we have been talking about are very important to all citizens and should not be taken for granted. Throughout the year we will come back to various amendments to the Constitution especially the 1st, 4th, and 5th amendments. For right now, I would like you to comment on the following questions. (note-this blog should not be 1 or 2 sentences)
"Free speech has been and is the subject of court cases. 1)Should there be limits to free speech? 2)Is there too much free speech? 3)Can freedom of speech do more harm than good?" (excerpt from p.83 Daily Warm-ups U.S History Level II Walch Publishing 2002)

The Declaration of Independence has been called the "birth certificate of the United States." Explain what you think this statement means? (must be more than 3 sentences).

I am posting a link about Senator Ted Kennedy's life. Unfortunately, he passed away from his battle with brain cancer.
I would like you to take a minute to read about his role as the brother of JFK and RFK and most importantly his role as a United States Senator.
     http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/32491712/

Senator Kennedy worked hard for civil rights, health care, working class and the poor. He dedicated his life to bettering the lives of all Americans and served the people as a US Senator for 47 years. He is the 3rd longest serving Senators in history (only behind Byrd and Thurmond).

President Obama is quoted as saying: "“An important chapter in our history has come to an end. Our country has lost a great leader, who picked up the torch of his fallen brothers and became the greatest United States Senator of our time,” Obama said." Good Afternoon,
I am sitting here trying to figure out the new web design on this warm summer day. Since I am trying to stay cool I thought it would be interesting to see if  I could start up a blog for this upcoming school year.
      Hopefully this works!
