Miss Hauser's Fourth Grade Class

Today in school we learned that personification is when we give non-living objects human traits.  Authors often use this literary device to bring animals to life in their writing. 

Your assignment for tonight's homework is to write two sentences about winter that use personification.  For each sentence please tell your classmates what object is being personified and what the human trait it was given is.  Post your two sentences to our blog for your classmates to see.  You will be expected to be able to discuss and comment on your classmates posts in class tomorrow so please read what others have posted. 

For example:  The snowflake danced to the ground like twirling ballerinas. 
                        The object being personified is the snowflake and the human trait it is given is dancing.
