This is last year's summer blog.  You may want to read what they were talking about last year.

Sowing Seeds of Science this Summer”

v  Discover the identity of a mystery seed!

    v  Learn about plants.

    v  Do scientific inquiry.

    v  Become a botanist.

v  Unlock the secrets of gardening.

v  Eat what you have grown!

    Optional summer science project:

You will receive “mystery seeds” to plant, nurture, and tend over the summer.  Like any good botanist, you will need to keep a journal of the plant’s growth, and eventually you will (with a bit of research) be able to identify the type of plant you have been given.

You will have the opportunity to keep in touch with your classmates and Mrs. Brackmann using a link on her Lourdes teacher website.   As you “blog” your experience, you will be able to share the ups and downs of being a gardener.  Please make at least 5 entries (hopefully many more) over the summer months.

A completed folder with your journal, pictures, and insights will be worth a bonus test grade upon returning to school.  Plus, there will be prizes for the best projects!
