Type (or copy/paste) favorite quotes and submit with your name (they can be from a song, a poem, a movie, etc.). Ensure you have the writer, and any extra information included will be extra bonus (i.e. work, year, occupation/life information, etc.).

    Ex:

"Speak what you think now in hard words and tomorrow speak what tomorrow thinks in hard words again, though it contradict everything you said today.--'Ah, so you shall be misunderstood.'--Is it so bad then to be misunderstood? Pythagoras was misunderstood, and Socrates, and Jesus, and Luther, and Copernicus, and Galileo, and Newton, and every pure and wise spirit that ever took flesh. To be great is to be misunderstood."

Ralph Waldo Emerson, An Essay on Self-Reliance, 1841, US essayist & poet (1803 - 1882)

"Why should we live with such hurry and waste of life? We are determined to be starved before we are hungry."

Henry David Thoreau, Walden, "Where I Lived and What I Lived For," 1850, US essayist (1817 - 1862)

“So heaven meets earth like a sloppy wet kiss and my heart turns violently inside of my chest and I don’t have time to maintain these regrets when I think about the way that He loves us.”

John Mark McMillan, The Song Inside the Sounds of Breaking Down, “How He Loves,” Nov 2005

“Fear is the path to the Dark Side. Fear leads to anger, anger leads to hate, hate leads to suffering.”

Yoda, Star Wars Episode I: The Phantom Menace, 1999

Write about an experience that you've had that changed your life/your way of thinking. What experience have you had that most impacted you? It can be simple or complex, but be open and sincere. Try to type at least 8 sentences. These need to be completed by Tuesday night, October 6. Know that you are deeply loved. Feel free to comment or ask questions about anyone's that you see. If you wish to remain annonymous, that is fine. Just let me know in class which is yours so I can give you credit.
