A Spanish Club meeting was held during activity period on Tuesday, December 16, 2008 in the blue cafeteria. At the meeting, we discussed ideas for club activities. Among the activities mentioned were the following:
- Latin dance lessons
- A Cinco de mayo dance
- A Valentine's Day fundraiser
- Participating in the partner schools program with Rufada Peru (http://rufadaperu.com/Home.html) and fundraising to help cover the teacher's salary
- Dinners at local restaurants
We decided to hold a little fiesta and learning session to celebrate El Día de los Reyes Magos on Tuesday, January 6, 2008. This will be an opportunity to learn about the holiday and sample some rosca de reyes and chocolate. The event is open to all students, not just those enrolled in Spanish classes. Those interested can sign up in room 105 by Tuesday, December 23, 2008. We ask for a $2.00 deposit that will be returned to you if you attend the event. Encourage your friends to come!
