This week we will be discussing and examining the leadership of Napoleon Bonaparte.  As with many leaders throughout history, there are two opinions of Napoleon as a leader.  Some feel that he was a supurb leader that pulled France out of the devastation of the French Revolution.  Others think that he caused more suffering in France by trying to create an immense empire and ruled over his people like a tyrant.  In this blog you will use the information we covered in class and internet research to form your own opinion of Napoleon.  Do you think he was a just ruler or a tyrant?  Back up you answer with as many examples as you can.

In this chapter will will be covering several individuals that have differing opinions on society and government.  In this blog I would like for you to think about your view on society and government.  What do you think about society and human nature?  Do you agree with Locke and feel that people are inherently good, or do you believe that people are greedy and corrupt as Hobbes felt?  How do you feel about government?  Should everyone in society have a say in their government or should everyone have to listen to an absolute leader?  Please explain and expand upon your answers to these questions.  If you read about a philosophe that you agree with then mention that individual in your post.

For many years throughout European history the only form of government was an absolute monarchy.  However, this changed and the monarchs of today are mainly figure heads of the countries they belong to.  In this blog I would like you to do some research on the internet and discuss what happend in European history that caused monarchs and absolute rulers to loose power in their country.
