In Chapter 1, Peter was sent to the market by his guardian to buy some fish. However, Peter uses his single florit to visit a fortune teller. With every action there is usually some form of consequence if we choose to not follow the directions. Why did Peter make this choice? If you were in this situation in the market square with so much excitement, what do you think (infer) you would do? Would you make the same choice? If so, why? And if not, why would you not?

This is a test as I work on some applications with in the blogging pages. A colleague asked how to set some things within the blog...so I'm testing them to see if they will work. Thank you for your patience with my comments.

I hope you will join the blog! Come on...give it a try!

Fourth week and we are off to a great beginning. The children are settling in quite nicely. Funny how they keep asking for homework! Can you believe it? We are working to get as much done as possible in class. If the children stay focused in class, they can accomplish most of the work! If not, they should have work to complete at home. (We will have homework, so don't worry.)
In Math, we have been practicing place value and rounding the past few weeks. We assessed place value and the results were quite nice. In a few days, we assess rounding/estimating. (You'll be seeing these results coming home in a week or so.)
In writing, we have been working with nouns and verbs as well as linear and webbed paragraphs. I sure hope your angel brought home the telescope for writing and shared how they stay zoomed in on the topic as well as webbing creates a . Be sure to inquire how writing, webbing, and s come together.
We've been setting up our science journals and will soon began some investigations.
The upcoming week, you'll see a few changes in our schedule as we are trying to arrange our schedule. We have a lot to cover, and I'm trying to make the most of our time.
Remember we have the 4th grade Academic Night coming this Monday evening. The children do not need to be in attendance. This is a time for you see how and what they will be doing this year. Space and seating is limited within the classroom. I'm looking forward to seeing you all again.
Have a blessed weekend.                                           ~Ms. Gray

When you choose to be pleasant and positive in a way you treat others, you have also chosen, in most cases, how you are going to be treated by others. Zig Ziglar
