We have also been learning how to count money and about natural resources we use everyday.

This week we were learning about matter, graphing and measurement.

Ask your student what matter is.  List some properties of a specific object that has matter.  Ask your child how to group items together.  Create a graph of some of your family's favorite movies.

Look forward to reading the responses to the questions the students post on Friday :)

Oh what a busy day we had today!!  We used the home made playdough to make landforms.
Be sure to ask your child what a plain, hill, valley and mountain would look like>

This week began our (almost) month long testing!  Tests include math and reading.  We have been sitting still and staring at papers for only a week but it feels like forever!!

What helps you overcome test anxiety?  Any tips for doing our best?

What are some examples of things you do that show you are a responsible citizen?

This week we have been learning about responsibility, rules, community and being fair.  We interviewed some people on campus about how they demonstrate responsibility, please share some of your examples.

Of course, its been quite awhile since I was in school, but I remember being scared about kindergarten and always "having a nosebleed" so I could go back home!

When my oldest son started, his teacher visited the house and I can remember watching for her out the window.  He was so nervous, he never said a word!
