February 9th
This Thursday we will be having our final insect test. Also, we will be taking the chapter
13 math test(small two sided sheet). When we get back from break we will be starting
math chapter 14. This Friday morning we will be having our longer unit 5 math test so that
your child does not forget the material over break. When we come back from break we will be
starting math unit 6: Geometry and Fractions. In unit 6 the first two chapters are about shapes
and the two other chapters are about fractions. This unit is usually fairly challenging so
please make sure to review concepts with your child. Have a great break!
Our On 2/08 will be sending your
child's science journal home. Please review their work with them and then send the journal back. The insect
final test will be on 2/11. On 2/12 we will be celebrating Valentines day by passing out
cards to each other. If your child brings cards they must bring them for all 23
students in our class. I will be sending a name list home in next week's MESH.
2/12 is the last day of school before Mid-Year break! I have put the February poem up
under monthly poem.

Happy New Year! I hope that you enjoyed your break. Thank you for all of the wonderful
gifts that you gave me. Students should be memorizing their January poem which we
will be reciting on 1/22. Also, this Monday the 11th students will bring home their
book report book and instructions. The book report is also due on 1/22. Any parents
interested in presenting about our helping us celebrate Chinese and/or Vietnamese New
Year let me know(it falls on 2/14).
