We are working hard this week! We are continuing to learn reading strategies
to become better readers. This week we started working on "Determining
Importance". We have been reading non-fiction books about pilgrims as well
as a pilgrim poem.
This Thursday your child will be bringing home directions and a booklet
to create an ancestor report. This project goes with our social studies and
is due on 11/30 after Thanksgiving break.
Also, your children are having their own little "healthy" Thanksgiving feast.
Your child brought home a paper with food that they wanted to bring last week.
If you wish to send a different item then the one your child chose that is fine.
However, all food items should be healthy and fit into the protein, vegetable,
fruit, or grain group. Send the food with your child or drop it off the morning
of 11/24.
In math we are currently working on chapter 8; unit 4. This chapter covers
addition with regrouping. We have been doing a lot of hands on math with
ones and tens blocks to reinforce concepts.
