Writing Focus: Describing, we are working on looking at various pictures and
describing what we see and then writing about it.
FIRST GRADE HOMEWORK:

Please review spelling words with your child every night. Encourage them to
sound out the words independently. They will be given an oral spelling test
and at the end of the week which will be graded.
-Leveled Reading:
Your child will also receive a level reader book. Every few days a new book
will be added to the book bag. Please review the new book with your child
and encourage them to read the older books for practice. (Please return book
bag every day) Their new book should be read three times every night.
Also review the sight words
-Writing is also very important so any chance possible encourage your child
to practice their hand writing.
- I will also send home work books and will mark off the pages that are
homework. Please return the workbooks as soon as possible because we will
also use them in class!
