Please join us on the evening of Thursday, May 24th for our annual Kindergarten Opera. This year, students from Room 3 and Room 7 will be performing the story, Stone Soup. This performance will begin at 6:00 PM and will be followed by a soup/bread potluck! Some children have lines to practice in their folder today! If you have not signed up for our potluck yet, we can still use a donation of 75 paper plates, 75 paper bowls, and a couple more crock pots of soup. It's fine to bring "kid-friendly" soup. I'll even consider a can of "Spaghettios" to be soup! :) If your child is unable to attend this evening performance, please let me know immediately..Thank you!
By now, your child has signed up for a specific animal for their Animal Report. Please keep your child's poster at home until their presentation date. They should be practicing speaking loudly and clearly. A sign up sheet to pick your child's presentation date is hanging in my window (along with a sample Animal Report). If you are unable to stop by, I will assign a date and notify you.
I have suspended Reading Groups at this time and begun year end assessments. If your child has any remaining reading books, or library books, please return them. There will be no new Bird Words this year. We will spend our final weeks reviewing all of our past Bird Words.
Lastly, all kindergarten classes will celebrate the end of our year with a potluck brunch on the playground on Wed., June 6th from 7:45-8:30 AM. Parents are welcomed to join us as we say goodbye to friends and welcome in the summer!
