Homework

Students write down homework in their planners every morning and get out 
designated assignments. Before leaving for the day, we spend the last ten 
minutes of class confirming that their binders have the appropriate 
materials.

DAILY HOMEWORK: 
Read 30+min. and complete reading log using a depth and complexity icon 
(details or multiple perspectives) using a minimum of 2 sentences.(reading 
log paper given out on Monday mornings)

LANGUAGE ARTS:(M-W students will tear out a page from their L.A. practice 
book, which supports the spelling for the week) On Thursdays, students will 
take a practice spelling test on the form provided in school; if students 
receive a 100% or one wrong on the Mon. pretest, they will study the 
challenge words.

MATH: My math class will be doing daily homework from their reteach green 
binders; students to take out one page in the morning, then I remind them 
during math class at 10:25, then they are reminded again the last 10 min of 
class. 
Mrs. Barrie will assign homework during her math class; student will also 
have time in her class to write it down in their binders. 

*Students will take a 5 min. speed test approx. 3x wk. If they get 3 or less 
wrong, they will move up to the next step. If they don't finish within the 5 
minutes, they need to complete the math facts/division sheet at home and 
turn it in the next day.

PROBLEM SOLVING IN MATH: Students will do one problem a day (paper given out 
on Monday mornings)

CLUEBUSTERS: may be worked on in the classroom and at home

SOCIAL STUDIES/SCIENCE: Look at planner

SIGNATURE: Parents need to sign the planner daily/ when you sign the 
planner, I know that you have looked over the assigned homework to confirm 
completion.

MORNING WORK: (Given out on Monday mornings/students to complete in class): 
DLP, Problem Solving, State Dailies, and Cluebusters- Cluebusters may also 
be worked on a home
