Hello Parents of the Kitah Zayin class,
My name is Diana Zankowsky and I am your child's teacher for the Kitah Zayin
class at Temple Beth Abraham.
The class and I met today for the first time today. We began with introductions
and covered all of the logistics of the first time together (names, kippot,
pencils, notebooks, rules, snack, etc.)
We also began to study together. Our first module is Public Speaking. We are
practicing public speaking through the use of various drills and exercises. Some
of them are silly, like today, we all recited tongue twisters and made faces to
loosen our facial muscles. And some of them are more serious; we talked about
the qualities of a good listener and a good speaker.
We will continue to practice and by the time of our first dinner together, you
will see your child deliver a speech to the group.
In Zayin, your child is able to purchase snack from our snack shuk, provided he
or she has contributed at least $0.25 to tzedakah. Drinks and snacks are $0.25
each. Of course, they may continue to bring snacks from home that meet the snack
policy of the school: fresh or dried fruits or vegetables. We have a 10-15
minute break in the middle of class.
Please feel free to email me if you have any questions or concerns. Or you may
call me if that is easier. My home phone number is 510-881-8466 and my cell is
510-290-5748.
L'Shalom,
Diana
