Mrs. Shinn's Second Grade

 

NAME: Mrs. Shinn

 

I studied at Vanguard University, where I received my bachelor's degree in psychology. I completed coursework through the National Institute for Learning Disabilities in SEARCH & TEACH. I am certified to work with children (K-3) who are educationally at risk. I am a Dyslexic Testing Specialist & Certified Dyslexic Tutor through Bright Solutions for Dyslexia, LLC with internationally renown Susan Barton.

 

I have been at Bethany for 12 years and I have taught the second (two years), third (five years) and sixth grades (five years). I love Bethany and find that my ministry here is a very important part of my life.

 

I love to spend time with my husband, Chuck, and five children. My 27 year old son, Vincent, is a landscaper. He is married to Sandy, a teacher, and they are having my first grandchild in February; my 22 year old son, KC, is in college and beginning the police academy in October; my 18 year old daughter, Tisha, attends school; my 16 year old daughter, Mandy, is a junior; and my son, Robbie, who would be 17 is in heaven as of November 29, 2007. 

 

I love the Lord and life! I try to live each day to the fullest. I enjoy camping, spending time w/ my sister and mom, getting pedicures, going out to eat, going to the movies, reptiles/animals and teaching.

 

My overall goal is to help your child grow spiritually, academically, emotionally and socially to his/her fullest potential.
