Dear Friends,
Our trip to Glide Memorial Church was wonderful! The students were perfect and really understood the purpose of the trip. I am very proud of them and the work they accomplished. Also, a GREAT BIG THANK YOU to the parents who drove on this trip. Without such devoted parents this trip would not have happened. Thank you all very much.
We have a very busy week coming up. Please check the calendar on this site for the specifics. I have notified you about the events, but the calendar is a good reminder. On Wednesday, December 16, each student will need 3 regular size candy bars to make their Holiday Candy Trains on Thursday. All of the other needed candy will be provided. The candy bars MUST be either 3 Musketeers, Snickers, or Milky Way. These size candy bars are the ONLY ones that will work. Please sent these candy bars in with your child on Wednesday. Do not forget the Sign-A-Long on Thursday at 9:00 in the MPR. This is a wonderful Kodak Moment time. The Fifth Grade Holiday Breakfast is Wednesday, December 16. The students will be served Hot Cocoa, Orange Juice, and donuts.
The students have a long term project, their Native American Research Project. The VAST majority of this assignment is to be completed in class. I do not want them working on it over the Winter Break. Our break is a time to spend with friends and family. They will be given time in class next week to work on this project, and if I need to extend the due date I will. I DO, however, want them to read over the break. Reading is not a chore, it is a pleasure.  I want them to develop a love of reading.
