About The Teacher

August 25th, 2011

Dear 5th grade Families,

Welcome to Camarillo Academy of Progressive Education! We are all
excited to have you as part of our CAPE family. I would like to thank you
for your hard work and dedication to this school. This should be another
exciting and adventurous year as we continue to grow and build a great
learning environment.
This will be my seventh year teaching fifth grade. I love the
curriculum and am excited to be working again with Mrs. McCrory. Just like
last year, I will be teaching all 5th graders reading, grammar, and social
studies, Mrs. McCrory will be teaching science and math. We are excited to be
able to work with both classes to build a great learning community.
This summer I spent time traveling up and down the 101 freeway to
visit my family and friends. I am a native of Los Angeles County. I also
read a variety a books both fiction and non-fiction. My favorite was "I Live
For This! Baseball's Last True Believer". I am a huge Los Angeles Dodgers
Fan. Think
Blue!
I am excited for this school year and am looking forward to working
with all of you for the success of your student. I hope that you had a great
summer and are ready to work together!

Sincerely,

	Mrs. Jacobs

Mission For The Class

There are two missions for the class. The first statement is our school's
mission statement.

"The mission of Camarillo Academy of Progressive Education Chartered School
is to foster global, independent, creative thinkers who feel confident in
themselves, are willing to take risks, and work cooperatively. Together
teacher, students, and parents create and sustain an environment in
accordance
with the Open School Philosophy, that sparks imagination, ignites a love for
learning, and encourages each individual to be and do the best that he/she
can; enabling pupils to become self-motivated, competent, and life-long
learners, equipped for the challenges of the 21st Century."

The second one comes from Mrs. Jacobs
"Let's think like frogs. Let's keep hopping forward and working together
to be the best that we can be."
