Rock Cycle Storyboard/Comic Strip
We have read the story about the rock cycle and completed notes on each
phase. You will create a
storyboard/comic strip that illustrates the major phases of the rock cycle. Be
creative and use the whole panel for your illustrations – be detailed.
You must include the following:
1. Your
storyboard/comic strip must have 8 panels.
These 8 points must be included.

When he was a rock on the sunny hillside
·
Sediment
Deposited - This will include 2 separate panels.
One illustration showing the rock becoming sediment and one illustration
to show sediment being deposited.
·
Sedimentary
Rock – illustration of layers and pressure
·
Metamorphic
Rock – illustration of pressure and heat, changing color, forming
crystals
·
Rock moving down below Earth’s surface
·
Rock being pushed up or out of the volcano
·
Igneous
Rock - cooling on top of the volcano becoming igneous rock
2.
Each panel must be labeled with the main idea of
what is occurring.
3.
Each illustration, panel dividers and all writing
must be outlined in black ink.
4.
Each illustration must be colored using color
pencils. (be neat)
5.
Each panel’s background must be colored (no snow).
6.
Place your full name in the bottom right hand
corner (go over it in black ink)
7.
Be sure your storyboard/comic strip has a title.
8. Spelling and neatness
count! Be sure to follow all of the
directions.
