GATE Referrals and Testing

An intellectual abilities test is administered to students in grades 2-5.

·         Administered online - in the computer lab

·         Administered by District trained proctor

·         Consists of three parts - verbal, non-verbal, and quantitative

·         2nd grade test is a picture/icon-based test

·         Test is read to 2nd graders by proctor - Students do not need to read test questions

Students in grades 3-5 will read test questions

·         Approximately 1 hour long

Testing Schedule

·         All second graders in the district will be GATE tested in February unless the parent/guardian declines testing. 
  

·         *Referral testing (grades 3-5) will be conducted in March.

REFERRALS FOR ELEMENTARY GATE PROGRAM (Grades 3-5)

Referrals for students in grades 3-5 currently are being accepted.  All referrals for grades 3-5 are due to the classroom teacher by December 5, 2016.

REFERRALS FOR SECONDARY GATE PROGRAM
GATE testing is conducted in the spring for middle school students who have not previously been tested in the district. Please contact CMS GATE Counselor, Stephanie Stahl (sstahl@cusd.net) if you are interested in having your student tested.
