Homework

HOMEWORK WILL BE ASSIGNED AFTER EVERY CLASS EXCEPT JUST BEFORE TESTS.

The most recent assignment is listed at the top.  Go to the documents 
page to download a copy if you need it.

6/1.  FINALS! Study sessions Wednesday 2-3:30 and Thursday 1-2:30. You can 
use one page of notes, one side, handwritten on the test. NO TYPED NOTES. 
Turn in these assignments the day of your final: DataLog, Ozone Notes, 
Particle Notes, Combustion Notes, Fuel Notes, Clean Air Review Sheet. Bring 
your textbook if you haven't turned it in already.

5/22. Read p. 17-21 in Clean Air Case Study. Answer #1-23 as notes for this 
reading from Fuel Notes sheet. Due next class.

5/20. Read Section 6.2 inscience Spectrum (p.192-198). Do #1-8 on p. 198. 
Extra Credit Activity 7B and textbooks due by 5/29 (a week from this 
Friday). 
Turn in textbook by 5/27 for 10 pts. Turn in by 5/29 for 5 pts.

5/18. Finish Concentration lab questions (Activity 4) and graphing SF Bay 
Area
air basin data (Activity 7A). Read p. 9-10 of Case Study about ozone.

5/14. Finish particle activity on p. 8-9 to question #7. Read and do p. 6-7 
in
Data Log.

5/12. Turn in Earthquake trail packet next class.

5/8. Finish questions in FEV lab if not completed in class. Put particle card
outside at home for 1 hr. Bring to class on Thursday 5/14.

5/6. Read pages 2-7 in Clean Air Case Study. Complete Part B of Clean Air
Challenge worksheet. Use youe Science Spectrum textbook (use the index) for
information about methane and carbon dioxide. Surdy notes for quiz on Friday.

5/4. No homework.

4/30. Finish STAR reviews #4 and 5.

4/28. STAR Review #3.

4/24. Astronomy STAR review.

4/22. Finish Tectonics review.

4/20. Finish Carbon Cycle in packet. Do Nitrogen Cycle in packet.

4/7. Finish Mountain Precipitation. Complete test review sheet. Bring
assignments to class to utrn in. Test next class.

4/3. Finish Weather patterns maps and questions for Tuesday class. Test 
review materials due Thursday.

4/1. Finish Hurrricane Andrew graphing and questions.

3/30. Read p. 613-617 in Science Spectrum. Do # 2, 4, 5-6 on p. 620 and #8-12
on p. 621.

3/26. Do Air Masses and Fronts worksheets.

3/24. Do Cloud Notes in packet. Use p. 608-609 in Science Spectrum.

3/20. Finish lab graphing and questions. Do Phase Change Diagram.

3/18. Finish Intro to weather notes and questions 1-6 on back of sheet.  Read
Deforestation and answer 1, 2, and 5 (look at # 3 & 4 to understand #5). Quiz
on Friday.

3/16. Read Section 18.2 of Science Spectrum (p. 606-612). Do #1-7 on p. 612.
Quiz on Friday.

3/12. Do Density Currents in the Atmosphere (back side of Where the Wind 
Blows
Notes).

3/10. Make graph for lab and answer lab questions. Question #7 is EXTRA 
CREDIT.

3/6. Bring grade sheet with parent signature. Graph data for Methan & Human
ACtivity and answer questions.

3/4. Finish review sheets. Study for test next class. Grade sheet with parent
signature due next Tuesday.

3/2. Finish the second lab - Greenhouse Effect or Seasons Going Further. Do
Using Energy Questions on back of Using Energy sheet - use Section 10.3 of
Science Spectrum.  Test 3/6.

2/26. Complete lab questions for the lab activity you did in class today -
Greenhouse or Seasons Going Further. Start work on unit review sheet, due the
day of the test next week.

2/24. Complete lab questions about Seasons lab done in class today.

2/20. Write two paragraphs about video - one about a scientist, one about how
the science of cold has changed our lives.

9/18. Do Sections D & E of tectonics packet.  Do Mt Pinatubo worksheet.

9/16 Read Sec 14.1. Do 1-5 on p. 467, #1-5 on p. 480.

9/12.  Do Part C of Plate Tectonics packet.  Read Sec 17.1 of text.  Do #1-
78 on p. 566.  Finish Plate Puzzle - label plates and color plate boundaries 
(use map p. 561).

9/10. Do "Earth Science To Go" on p. 4 of How the Earth Was Made packet. 
Next class: quiz and turn in binders.

9/8.  High in the Himalayas worksheet - front side only.

9/4 No new homework.

9/2  Do Worksheet 6.2 Making a Line Graph and 6.3 Making and Interpreting 
Bar and Pie Graphs.  Pick up paper copy of homework Wednesday in E17, or 
download from the website from the "Physical Science Documents" page.

8/28  Read Section 1.3 of Science Spectrum textbook (p.20-26). Do #1-7 on p. 
26.

 8/26.  Do the front side of the homework handout and the first two 
questions on the back side.  Study for quiz on Safety Rules and the 
Scientific Method next class.

8/22  Observe a naturally occuring inanimate object (not an animal) for at 
least 5 minutes.  Write 10 observations.  Three observations MUST be 
quantitative (a measurement with a number and units).

Bring back the Class Rules and Safety Contract signed by both student and 
parents.

8/20  No homework.
