What is the best way to contact me?

You can click on the e-mail link and it will take you right to my e-mail
page. You can also e-mail me using the school e-mail system. You can also
write me a note.

What if my schedule changes for the day, may I change sessions?

Yes, you may send your child as either an Early Bird or a Later Gator for
any
day you need. We do the same general work in both sessions and your child
will read with another group that day. It is not necessary to let me know
in
advance.

What if my child cannot complete the homework for some reason?

Just send me a note or tell me at the door. Please have your child complete
and return the homework when they are able to.

Do you have share days?

No, not in First Grade. However, if your child has a special something
related to a trip taken or a special day, they may bring it in. Also, some
things may relate to what we are studying. Please check with me if you are
not sure.

Will I get my Student of the Week poster back?

Yes, but not until after Open House. I display them that night.

If my child is sick, do they have to turn in the work they missed?

Yes, but whenever you have a chance to complete it.

What are the Green Cards my child gets on Friday?

The cards show that your child has stayed on green all week and did not have
to pull a card. I suggest that you plan some type of reward for your child
after he/she has received a certain number of cards.

What happens on a rainy day?

Your child may enter the classroom at the back door where they will be able
to walk to the room under a cover. On a really rainy day, there are big
puddles walking to our front door so it is best to use the back door.

How do I celebrate my child's birthday?

You may send in a nutritious snack (keeping with the current board policy on
not sending in sweets). This could be fruit, muffins, crackers and cheese,
etc. You may also do a small goody bag instead. Of course, you do not have
to do either as we will sing and your child will get a certificate, sticker,
crown, and pencil from me. If your child has a summer birthday, please pick
a day we can celebrate in school and let me know.

What are "special visits"?

I would like to try to be present at some special time for your child - a
soccer game, a softball game, a recital, etc. Please give me a schedule if
you can of games so I can pick a time that fits into my schedule. I cannot
come to birthday parties as I know I cannot make them all and that would not
be fair.
