Homework

The best homework that you can do with your child at this age is read,
read, and read. Have a blast with books and model the correct way to
read by putting your finger where the words begin. You might take a
picture walk through the book before you begin to read. Make certain to
ask comprehension questions along the way. Ask your child to make
predictions on how the story will end. You can keep track of how many
books you read by making a chart that your child can color in (sort of like
a graph) or whatever works for you. Remember, the love of books is a
gift that will last a lifetime for your child, and those children that have had
lots of exposure to books will surely be more ready to learn to read.
