Questions and Answers

Q. Help! I can't find your class anymore! Where is your new classroom?
A. About 80% of CHS teachers were moved the last few days of last school
year. I am now in room N209. If you need to find a teacher, you can check
in the main office, as they have a list of all the teachers.

Q. If I have a question, how can I contact you?
A. If you are at school, you can 'pop in' and ask the question. I usually
arrive at 6:20 and leave at 4:30. You can check with me before school,
after school, and/or lunch - passing periods are o.k. too! If you are at
home, you can e-mail me at teachermcniff@aol.com. If the question is of an
urgent nature, please be aware that I check my e-mails frequently but I am
not on-call 24/7. Don't wait until the last minute to ask me your
question. You can call the school but the phone in the room does not
receive outside calls so the best you can do is leave a message. For this
reason, e-mail is better.

Q. When is homework due?
A. Homework is due the next day, at the beginning of the period, unless
otherwise noted.

Q. Are all assignments posted to the web?
A. No. Although many assignments and many helper worksheets are posted,
not all assignments are posted. If you lose and assignment, you can check
to see if it is posted under the HANDOUTS section of the site or in a
special folder related to the book we are reading, but there is
no guarantee.

Q. Why aren't all assignments posted to the web?
A. Usually due to copyright infringement laws.

Q. Are there any websites you suggest?
A. I have posted links to websites I recommend. They are listed under the
LINKS portion of this website.

Q. From this website, how do I see the school's webpage?
A. Click on the picture of the school house in the upper right hand corner
of the HOME page.

Q. From this website, how can I send you e-mail.
A. On the homepage, click on the blue and orange thought bubble labeled e-
mail in the upper right hand corner. From any other page, click at on the
taskbar at the top of the page where it says e-mail.

Q. What is your homework policy? Test policy? Make-up work policy? etc.
A. Guidelines for the classes are located under the handouts section of
this page. These are the same guidelines sent home at the beginning of the
year and they contain all policies.

Q. I am on a page. How do I get to another page without going back?
A. Up at the top of a page is a list of the other pages. Just click ont he
page you want to go to and it will automatically navigate you to that page.

Q. I see icons labeled grades. How often are grades posted? How do I
access them? Can parents access them?
A. Grades are usually posted weekly but can often be updated more often.
You access them by typing in your sixth digit birthdate. In a few rare
cases, you will be assigned a different number. Parents can also access the
grades by typing in the same information.

Q. Why do you like the Clippers so much?
A. Anyone who roots for a team like the Lakers is a boring individual. I
admire the Boston Red Sox and Chicago Cubs fans as they have faced much
adversity over the years and the loyal fans have stuck with them. I loved
the Clippers when I was young, so I have stuck with them through their
adversity. Fly-by-night fans of other teams, as well as fans of the Flashy
Lakers, are of no value as they take the easy road and love winners. The
Clippers will prevail, of this I am sure. On this subject, let me say that I
HATE KOBE! Come in and talk with me if you want to know why. And no, it
doesn't have to do with the rape charges that were levied against him. It
has to do with his play.
