This page will give important information about current creative writing
assignments.
To start off the school year, I will be introducing all 3rd graders to the
steps for the writing process. An initial writing assessment selection
entitled "My Summer Vacation" will be shared with you during our
Parent/Teacher Conference in November. It will give me an insight into your
child's creative writing ability. This year, all 3rd graders will be tested
on how well he/she can effectively write a descriptive story, a formal
letter, and a personal narrative. It is important that you as a parent
continue to give your child continued guidance in creative writing at home
since this is a subject in which most 3rd graders demonstrate difficulty.
Also, please remember that creative writing is an on-going process, and
subsquently may take several days of assistance from the teacher prior to
completing the published writing selection.
