Study Guide - Unit 1 Reflections Test

1)	Know the definitions of the vocabulary words, especially history,
community, diagram, transportation, storyboard, ancestor, artifact, tradition,
and communication.
2)	Be able to read a time line and recognize that the events to the left
happened first/earliest and the events to the right happened last/most
recently. This means the events are shown in the order they happened
(chronological).
3)	The world we live in has changed a lot over the last century; this
means
things are a lot different. We see these differences in transportation,
communication, jobs/careers, and entertainment.
4)	Older members in a family pass on traditions to children. Younger
members
in a family can learn about a family’s history by knowing about their
ancestors.
5)	Some of the traditions families pass on are food recipes, cultural
clothing, songs/music and dances, literature, language, and celebrations.
