Monday - Friday of a typical week
Read for 20 minutes. Students will have an assigned book that they will be reading each night. They will also have a response to write two days of week.
Spelling : Students will be given a set of spelling words based on a pattern. They will have spelling assignments each night to help them study the words. Their spelling test will be on Friday.
Math: Practice workbook pages.
Each night, your son/daughter will complete one page of math review and must complete at least 3 problem solving problems. If at any time throughout the year your child is struggling with a concept and can not finish their homework in an hour or less - PLEASE write me a note so that I can sit with the student and give them some extra help.
Monthly I would like to include book reports or some type of long-term project as appropriate. Each student will also need to present a speech in front of the class.
Mid-Year Progression: As we progress in the year, there will be longer term assignments, to help the students with Time Management Skills.
*** As always, please let me know of any homework difficulties you are having with your child. These assignments should not be difficult, as they are to be review and reinforcement of lessons that have been taught in the classroom.
Homework assignments should be in the Clifford folder each night. Homework is due the next day. I will not except late homework.
If a student is absent, it is the student's responsibility to get the Homework and Classwork needed. The student will only have one day to make up the work every day absent or it will not be excepted.
This is a breakdown of how your child's grades will be on their report card.
