About The Teacher

Hello, I am very excited to be teaching this year at Clover Flat. Here is
some background on me: I currently live in Alpine and my family lives in
Pine Valley. I graduated from Mountain Empire High School and went on to
obtain a Bachelor of Arts degree in Liberal Studies from San Diego State
University. I then earned my Multiple Subject Credential through San Diego
State University. My goal is to continue on and earn a Master's Degree in
Education.

I enjoy reading and bike riding. I am very close to my family and I have two
friendly cats. I am certainly ready to focus on teaching at Clover Flat
again this year. I look forward to meeting you all soon!

Philosophy of Education

I believe that each and every child has a right to learn and that teaching a
child is extremely effective when working in partnership with parents.
I believe instruction must be designed and/or modified to appeal to the
variety of learning styles within the classroom. I incorporate all of these
styles in my teaching.
It is my responsibility as your child's teacher, to provide a learning
environment which facilitates a positive self-esteem, builds upon and
encourages responsibility, and challenges each individual to meet high and
reasonable standards and expectations. My philosophy of discipline
coincides with this belief. Thus, if and when disruption in the classroom
occurs, it is dealt with in a firm, yet fair manner. Students are held
responsible for their actions, positive or negative.
I strive to convey my own love of learning to my students. Learning is
ongoing and always important. The best contribution I can make to your
child is to teach him/her effectively and to the very best of my ability and
this is what I will do.
