Message from the Principal

Welcome to College View Elementary School. As the principal, my goal is to work with the College View Community in providing quality education, setting high expectations, and creating a caring community for all students. We are very proud of our students and the programs at our school. Our dedicated and caring staff is committed to providing a high quality education to all our students with high expectations of academic achievement and behavior.

Each and every day I am impressed with the school and the commitment of all its members. College View School works as a team. Everyone works together and there is no one person or group who can take credit for the success of our school. We have a talented teaching staff that show their commitment to teaching through effective methodologies, professional development and infusion of technology. They work together as a team and are constantly sharing and learning. We have amazing parent support. We know that we can not do our job without their assistance.

College View School is a great place to learn. College View dedicates itself to the academic achievement of our students. As members of learning community, the College View teaching staff recognizes the importance of continuing their own learning in order to improve pedagogy and the increase student achievement. With the focus of student success, teachers collaborate and plan to ensure that each child reaches his/her potential.

We have many things planned this year that will help to strengthen the communication between school and home, foster a positive school culture, and continue to promote students’ academic success. Some of these include:

• Principal’s Coffee Talk- These are informal parent meetings with the principal to chat, answer questions, discuss ideas, and get to know you better. It is also an opportunity for parents to be updated on school issues at this time. They will be scheduled several times throughout the year and at various times. You are invited to chat with me about any topic of interest.
• Garden Parties- Come out and be apart of helping to beautify the campus and its surroundings. We always need volunteers to help weed, plant flowers, and maintain our many gardens on campus.
• Afterschool Clubs
• PTA meetings

I am always available to answer any of your questions or concerns.

You can call me at (714) 847-3505 or e-mail me at kjaquin@ovsd.org.
