Welcome

Opened as a K-8 school on February 15, 1965, College View was named for its location near Golden West College. When College View opened, its “open spaced” design was considered innovative and received visitors from throughout the western United States. Located on the northeast portion of Huntington Beach, the school currently serves approximately 500 kindergarten through fifth grade students.

What a year for College View! First, our API score increasd to 871 and all subgroups moved above the State benchmark of 800. Second, the Orange County Register recognized us with the "Silver Award" for academic achievement and school environment and only one other school in our District received that award. Then, Jan Richards, one of our teachers, was recognized as "District Teacher of the Year!" Next, California Business for Educational Excellence named College View for its "2010 Honor Roll" as a "Star School," a school with significant populations of socio-economically disadvantaged students that have shown a significant increase in grade-level proficiency over four years and are out performing expectations for every subgroup of students. Finally, most recently, the State of California released the data on comparable schools. Congratulations to College on being a "8" statewide and more importantly a "10" when compared with schools of similar characteristics! We are proud to be "Wildcats!"
