RtI - Response to Intervention

Intensive grade level reading instruction at a level appropriate to the group�s 
needs.  This approach is used for all students from lowest to highest and has resulted in improved 
achievement for all.

Meet the Masters

Students learn about each artist and then produce a �work of art� similar to that artist.

Conflict Managers

Volunteers from fifth grade who are trained to help students resolve disputes. They are available at 
recesses and in the classrooms to help teachers, too.

Reading Buddies

Big Buddies are paired up with younger kids (grades K-2) to encourage a love of books, to develop 
positive attitudes about reading, and to promote reading as a fun activity.

ERI-Early Reading Intervention

Kindergarten and first grade students participate in this systematic program that focuses on basic 
reading skills. Students meet 5 days per week for 30 minutes.

After School Literacy Program

Students attend reading classes for an hour after school four days per week. The ratio of students to 
teachers is six to one. Students engage in guided reading and writing experiences.

District approved study trips to support the state curriculum.
