What does the 8th--C--7th rotation mean?
This rotation is the order in which teams will compete when more than one game must be played at the same facility on the same date. For example, the 8th grade team will always play before both the C-Team and/or the 7th grade team. The C-team will always compete in front of the 7th grade team, which will always play last at locations where the facility must be shared. This conflict generally arises during both the boys' and girls' basketball seasons, as well as, the girls' volleyball season. However, this conflict can be negligible depending on the facility that the school has to offer, and NEVER will a team be in a situation where it will be playing third on a facility.Back to Top
When do games typically start?
When there is no 8-C-7 conflict rotation all competition will begin at, or as near to, 3:45pm as possible. When a team is playing second on a facility the game will generally begin around 5:00pm.Back to Top
Yes! However, experience is needed and there are procedures that must be followed. The Sunnyvale School District has a unique relationship with the City of Sunnyvale, thus requiring all coaches for Columbia to become City "volunteers". The process usually takes 1-2 weeks as there are a few small steps to complete before a coach can begin work (Fingerprints, TB Test, Volunteer Application, and a W-4 must be completed).Back to Top
