Library books are due now!
Letter to future self, Due tomorrow (I will not read the letters)
This is perhaps the single
most important assignment you will have this year, because it is a future gift
to yourself. You are going to write a letter to your future self. I will save
the letters and return them to you the very last week of 8th grade.
If you no longer attend Cooley, I will mail them to you. It is up to you to
decide how long your letter will be and how much effort you put in to this.
However, the more detailed this letter is, the happier you will be when you
finally see it again two years from now. In the past I have had students upset
with themselves when they open their letters only to see a few short lines
written. They are disappointed because they put in little effort and it wasn’t
fun reading their letter. Most kids, however, are so excited about getting
their letters, they start asking for them a year too early! All students who
wrote long, thoughtful letters are so happy and thankful they took the time to
do so. The following are not requirements, merely suggestions to help guide
your writing. Have fun with this and remember, the more effort you put in to
this now, the happier you will be when you get the letter back at the end of 8th
grade!
*Must be hand written in ink
(you will be shocked to see how much your writing changes)
