CFCPTA 2007-2008 Goals & Objectives

   1. Continuing to be in touch with, and building relationships with all our
units and both school districts. Trying to visit every unit by at least one
council officer, to show support and interest! Making PTA fun! Encouraging
every school to send at least one staff member and one parent to council meetings.

   2. Providing leadership and organizational support, being available for
consultation, distributing information to all units. Providing a forum for
units to share strategies and concerns.

   3. Having sponsorships available to units for parent informational nights.
(We are trying our utmost to be as flexible as possible to help the best we can).

   4. Fun Contest: Setting a target of at least 5% increase in membership for
every unit.
- The unit with the biggest increase in membership will win $250 and rah-rahs
and kudos at a general meeting and in newsletters.
- Every unit that exceeds the 5% increase wins a fun gift and rah-rahs and
kudos too.

   5. Legislation and Advocacy: PTA is the largest grassroots child advocacy
organization in the state. PTA has been successful in procuring for our
schools over $500 million for the arts this year. Next year our council hopes
to increase awareness of child and education issues at all levels of
government (eg. PTA supporting removal of STAR testing for 2nd graders.)

   6. "My PTSA State Awards" : Promoting the State PTA awards for all levels
of PTAs (unit/council/district) in the Chairman's Club. See www.capta.org- I
am convinced most of our units qualify for these awards. (Membership
creativity; Outreach; Parent involvement; teachers, administrators and staff
involvement, student involvement, allied agency/community partners
involvement; advocacy efforts)

   7. Starting a yahoo group where PTA board members from all schools can
share/brainstorm ideas, ask for help, maintain an ongoing dialogue.

   8. Promoting "Every One Mentor One " to cultivate new leaders for the
future in our units.
