Virtual Quilt

To celebrate Black History Month
in February, crafts students from
semester one create African Adire
Cloth squares and from semester
two created tie-dye cloth. We then
assembled them on the wall outside
the library to create a vitual
quilt.

Imagine the Music

As a continued celebration of
Black History Month, art students
examined this history of the
Harlem Renaissance and Jazz. They
then focused on creating rhythm in
their compositions as they listed
to jazz music and created
delightful collages.

Masks and Boxes

Ceramics 1 & 2 students learned
about African art while looking at
ceremonial masks. They focused on
pattern and texture and then
created their own art choosing
either to do a mask or use these
elements in a box.
