6th Grade Newsletter

To 6th Graders,

Week of 6/8-6/12/09

Congratulations....one week left.  Can you believe it, you made it through your first year of middle school with flying colors.  That is a HUGE accomplishment.  It has been fun working with all of you this year and I hope, when you are in 8th grade, I will be lucy enough to have you again.

WHAT ARE WE DOING THIS WEEK?
------------------------------------------------------------------------
My big goal this week is to get you in the gym for some scooter basketball. I think that I can make it happen.  Also, depending on assembly schedules, etc. this week, we will get in a day of cooperative activities.

WHAT ASSIGNMENTS ARE DO OR WERE HANDED OUT THIS WEEK?
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
1. The only assignment is going to be for you to bring your Sportfolio to class on Monday.  I am going to do a quick check.  You will receive a check, check plus or check minus in my grade book depending on the quality of your folder.  If it looks like you kept all of your work as well as maintaining your folder in good shape, you will receive a check or check plus.  If the folder is ripped, without tabs, loose papers all over the place in random order, you will receive a check minus.  A check plus is extra credit, a check is not losing or gaining credit and a check minus will result in a 5 point loss for participation.

KEY REMINDERS
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
-Most of you grades are updated.  I have some changes to make tomorrow.  When you check Pinnacle on Tuesday, that will be your final grade for the year.  If the grade is not what you think it should be, please come see me on Tuesday or Wednesday.  I WILL NOT make any grade changes after Wednesday.

FITNESS FACTS/ADVICE/EXTRA CREDIT OPPORTUNITIES
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
None

Thanks,
Mr. Sickler
